It had been weeks since her release from the asylum. Belle was now living with the man she was involved with for so many years before her disappearance and now she was back with him. Mr. Gold had promised he'd protect her and she would believe that coming from him. As Belle got into some modern day clothing she managed to leave the estate and take a little walk to the diner. Wondering if they were hiring or not.
Opening up the door she looked around her surroundings. Already she had gotten a few stares and she paused for a moment before going in. Mr. Gold had told her to go find a job somewhere, and she had done as she had asked. Basically everyone knew who she was involved with and she nodded her head nervously to them.
Making her way to a booth she had a newspaper in hand and she sighed deeply for a moment. Placing both hands on her head before started to take a pen out and circling a few things. Belle didn't know what to do at this point and she looked around her surroundings once again. The waitress came to her and asked her if she wanted anything and she nodded. "Just a coffee please..." she said softly and went back to what she was doing.

Sighs. It was so damn boring in this town. Hardly anything to do for someone like Jacob and always the same damn routine. It was rather tiring and Jacob thoroughly disliked it. Of course there wasn't much he could do since he was in fact stuck like this. He wasn't sure what he disliked more. Being human or being bored. He wasn't sure what was so special that that pathetic little mermaid wanted this life so badly. It did not suit Jacob. All those years as a green eel had been who he was and now he was stuff in this horrid state. Oh well. he could complain all he wanted. It wasn't like doing so would really change anything, not as long as Regina and Ursula and the rest of that lot has anything to say about it.
So while he could be moping about it he had to go on with this facade. He was walking down the same old street of Storybrooke, Maine when he spotted a certain brunette walking into Granny's diner. Why if isn't the lovely Belle? Out and about. Mr. Gold's better half he could say. Released from her little prison and now out in the big bad world. It was rather amusing. Perhaps he could have some fun. A light smirk formed on his face and without a second thought he walked with a light hop in his step towards the diner. He opened the door. The diner wise well active. He caught sight of Belle sitting alone in a booth. He walked up to the counter and placed an order for a hamburger and soda. Before turning around he cleared his smirk and put on an innocent and warm face. He walked over to Belle, avoiding a few people. "If you don't mind me being forward I'd say you could use a friend." he smiled warmly. "I'm Jacob. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting."

It was a slow morning for Belle. She was never really that good at talking up to anyone before without being around her lover. A sigh escaped her as she held her cup of coffee as Ruby brought it to her. "Thanks..." she muttered softly as she stared into her cup for sometime and then she looked over at the window. Watching people pass by the diner with the blinds half closed but she played with the flaps a little and she looked out even more clearly. Then she closed her eyes for sometime as she took a sip of her coffee and looked up as she noticed someone coming in and walking towards her booth. Where people always like that coming towards lonely creatures such as herself and joining them here? Belle didn't know and she looked away for a moment. Then she looked back at him as he spoke to her.
Hearing his voice she looked up and managed to smile back a little. "Its nice to meet you Jacob" she said suddenly as she heard his name. Her voice was angelic and soft and she continued to stare at the young boy for a moment. Then she lowered the paper and placed her arms over it for a moment. She was in desperate need of some sort of a job one would say and Belle looked up at him for a moment. "I'm Isabelle. But most people call me Belle for short" she said softly. Nodding her head to him. She had a strong Australian accent and she hoped to tone it down a bit while being here. Belle gave a small smile back to him and said nothing for a moment.
Belle looked at him for a while and studied him. He seemed interesting, Friendly enough and she could get a moment of words about this place that her lover had released her to. "So Jacob" she began trying to make conversation with him. "What made you decide to come over to sit with me? Not that I mind or anything...Just curious" she said suddenly looking into her coffee then back up at Jacob again.

Jacob could tell that Belle was a bit hesitant when he approached her. Then again considering she's been locked up in an asylum all this time he guessed he couldn't exactly blame her. To be honest he would have been expecting her to completely brush him off or ask him to leave. Of course then that wouldn't be suitable for a young princess such as herself. He would just have to make sure he didn't over exert his friendliness. Then again this wasn't his first show. After all, he had to come off as friendly welcoming when luring all those pathetic mermaids to Ursula once upon a time ago. This was nothing knew except he wasn't planning on luring Belle to Ursula, at least not yet. Befriending this young girl could prove beneficial later on for his dear old boss.
"The pleasure is mine Belle." he said with a warm smile. "Do you mind if I sit?" he said pointing at the seat in front of her. After another moment he sat down. As he was making himself comfortable his order came. "I hope you don't mind." he said with a slightly apologetic look.He took a drink from his soda as he noticed her studying him. He didn't say anything. He just let her be. She was the first to break the ice. Now to impress her a bit. "I promise I'm not a creep or anything." he said trying to lighten the mood with a light chuckle. "If you don't mind me saying you just looked a bit...out of place. You looked like you could use some friendly company. Everyone could use a friend after all." he said reassuringly before sticking a fry in his mouth. "So, how are you liking Storybrooke?"

Ever since her release from the asylum, Belle had been so eager to meet new people and mingle. She was grateful that someone had broken her out and that the doctor had kept the secret from everyone to put fluids into her so she would be healthy to be with Mr. Gold again. Looking up at the man named Jacob again she smiled a little in return. "No, please, feel free to sit down" she said kindly. Belle said nothing after awhile she added some more cream into her coffee and took another sip. The young blonde looked outside for some time then back at the boy again.
At his words she listened to him speak and she shook her head. "I don't mind" she said smiling again. Then she made eye contact and was beginning to feel a lot more calmer than before. Belle looked at him and said nothing for a moment. She couldn't help but giggle at his statement. "You didn't seem the type anyway to be the stalker kind" she said snickering still. Thens he looked at him. Belle gave a light nod. "I suppose you can say I'm still out of place and dazed and confused. Its strange to put it frankly. I don't really remember why I was in the Asylum" she said sighing.
Belle placed a hand to her head for a moment and looked down at the paper of the red possible circles for jobs, she looked back up at him again as he asked her about Storybrooke. "Storybrooke, is a small little town. I like it." she said smiling a moment later. "Everyone is so nice here and their all so helpful with me trying to retrieve my memory back" she said sighing. "Thankfully, Mr. Gold is helping me as well." she said softly looking at him.

Jacob gave a mock relieved sigh and smile. "Whew. Good because I was going for charming." he said jokingly. Is this really how humans acted? It was pathetic. He would admit though, the face and body he had been given when the curse had been put in place made things a bit easier when it came to gaining someone's trust. The face of an eel wasn't actually the most attractive thing to look at. It would take a bit for himself and Jetsam to calm the fear of whoever they were after before luring them to Ursula. Having been turned into this young boy made himself seem more likable.
Jacob's face turned into an apologetic one. "I'm so sorry that you had to go through something like that. I can only imagine what it must have been like. It's absolutely horrid." he said sympathetically. He had to be careful not to overdue it of course. "The good thing though is that you're out of that wretched place." he said with a encouraging smile. Unless Jacob was mistaken he believed that things were going smoothly. That was fantastic. He wondered though how much Belle's dear Mr.Gold has told her. Jacob would assume that he'd be all about protecting the dear girl. So would that included warning of certain number of people such as Regina and friends. By the way she reacted when he told her his name made him think it was highly unlikely.
"That's good to hear. I don't think I've really ever met anyone in this town that wasn't kind. Or at least appear to be kind." and that definitely annoyed him. Even if they didn't have their memories most everyone were still their rather goody goody selves which was rather annoying. Of course considering the point was to keep everyone from their happy endings the good meter has gone down on some of them but still. He couldn't help the smirk that broke when she brought up Mr.Gold. "It's quite obvious how much he cares about you. You should consider lucky. He doesn't show kindness such as that to everyone."

Belle looked up at him a moment later she noticed Ruby had came back and she looked up at her."No. I'm fine. Thank you Ruby." She said giving a small smile. Then she looked back at Jacob for a moment and she sighed softly. "It was dreadful, horrid cold place" she told Jacob. "Regina had me in there for almost twenty eight years. Before the curse was enacted" she told him softly. "It was strange. I tried getting away but they were to fast for me" she said sighing. "I'm sorry, I'm ranting this to you" she said a moment later.
A light laugh escaped her as she took another sip of her coffee and looked out the window for a moment. "Well, he is difficult. I've managed to make my way around him. He's often told people that he's a difficult person to love. But after working for him for so many months in the other world. You manage to develop feelings" she said looking back at him. "He's a nice person when he wants to be" she said rolling her eyes giving a light laugh. "Well, Jacob. Enough about me. What do you do?" she asked tilting her head wanting to get to know this person.

Now this was interesting. "Me? Nothing of importance I assure you. I work at Vanessa's herb shop. Not exactly a dream job but we all do what we must." He's actually has been question as to why he worked for his "adopted sister" but that was because they didn't know the truth. It wasn't exactly the most joyful of jobs but oh well. Jacob just ate his food for a couple of seconds. He just listened to her talk about Mr.Gold. What he saw in old Rumplestilskin is beyond him.
"Curse? What curse?" he said to Belle with a confusing look. So she remembered huh? That was interesting. Usually only those in league with Regina that were helping her make sure the curse stayed in tack were the ones that remembered. Of course now he had to play it off as he had absolutely no idea what she was talking about which wasn't hard to do. Acting was one of his specialties.

Making a face she gave a small giggle. "Oh, I'm sure there has to be something.." she said looking at him kindly. "Vanessa?" she said again wondering if she encountered her before. "It seems like an interesting one though. I may stop by there someday. Whenever Im not busy" she said smiling. "It would be interesting to see it" she said to him.
"Well, For what I know, I was taken by Regina before she enacted it" she said looking at him. "But thats all I know. Been the asylum ever since" she said looking away and into her coffee and looking out the window. Propping her head upon her hand.
