Its time to leave this town
Its time to steal away
Lets go get lost
Anywhere in the u.s.a.

Blue Woods is a small, rural town in Georgia. In fact, if you blinked you might just miss the place. It's a town deeply rooted in old, southern mannerisms and traditions passed down for so many generations they've forgotten the reasons behind them. Plantation-style homes dot the green, otherwise vacant landscape amid old log cabins a few half-hearted attempts at the old sixties mordernism homes. Everywhere you look it's like stepping back into a time when gentlemen only spoke of politics and religion and the ladies drank mint juelips on the porchm fanning themselves from the summer heat. Indeed, some places in Blue Woods are still like that to this day, just as any other person will tell you how their family had been there since General Sherman did his march to the sea.
Blue Woods is true to it's name by the beautiful silver fir trees and surplus of creeks and streams that surround the small town, hiding it well unless you are looking for it. In a town that has it's roots in the old south, things aren't always peachy in the state of Georgia. Racism, Hellfire-And-Brimstone preachers, and intolerance of outsiders still reigns in this backwoods town. And in a town with a church on every corner and a football decal in every car window, things have finally started changing. But these changes aren't good ones, not in the eyes of the community.
Everyone knows anything goes
and now
We are the lotus kids
So better take note of this
For the story
and now
We are the lotus kids
So better take note of this
For the story
In the last three years the town of Blue Woods has found itself changing, being drug kicking and screaming out of the past and into the future. See, three years ago a group of high school girls, best friends, found out one of the girls was pregnant. Being so close, so young and so foolish the other three vowed to get pregnant too. They would be together and support one another and it would be a pact. A pregnancy pact. Each of the girls, one from the four grade levels, got pregnant within six months of another. These four girls were the talk of the town, and not in a good way. Fingers were pointed and blame was thrown around like a game of hot potato. Each girl faced hardships as their bellies began showing more and more. Of course, in the south you never ever use the 'A'-word. The four pregnancies were carried to term and the girls stayed close just as they'd promised.
Ella, the oldest girl, is now a two time mommy and has now gotten her GED, starting on her cosmetology certification. She also has a fiance who loves her. Gemma, now a graduated, is struggling to make ends meet working a dead-end job and trying to live with a family who has come to hate her while stripping to make herself feel beautiful. Heather, now a senior, is now living in a home with an older man, sleeping with him in order to keep a roof over her and her child's head. And Jessica, now a junior, is struggling to get back her health after the baby nearly killed her, and trying to find a way to ignore her boyfriend and his new girlfriend together at school.
I used to be so full of my confidence,
I used to know just what I wanted and just where to go.
More than ever I could use a coincidence,
But now I walk alone and talk about it when I know.
I used to know just what I wanted and just where to go.
More than ever I could use a coincidence,
But now I walk alone and talk about it when I know.
You would think that would be the end of our story, right? That the other kids would have learned or else their parents would have pretty much had them on lock down. Strangely enough it seems more kids are rebelling from their parents now a days. Drugs, alcohol, and sex are prominent in the once highly religious community. There has been a surgence of teen pregnancies in the last three years, ever since that group of girls made a pact to get pregnant together. Parents who preached how their daughter was pure, innocent suddenly found themselves raising their own child and their grandchild or grandchildren. Pastors who were held in revere in the community are under scandal for a child of their's ending up pregnant or fathering an illegimate child. It seems the method of teaching abstinence as the only option has actually backfired.
It seems the method of teaching abstinence as the only option has actually backfired. And with this, the once quiet town of Blue Woods has become a media spectacle being watched under a microscope. Parents are disowning their pregnant teens, throwing them out to the streets or else screaming at them for being sinners. Alliances running deep as the Mississippi are being shattered infront of everyone's eyes in a massive game of he said-she said. Children are being born, pregnancies are being hidden, families are being torn apart. And all of this has caused the small town to become a war field.
But you need to remember, all of this madness is breaking the girl.
